Seth Harp Appreciation Event

From a press release:

State Leaders Honor Senator Seth Harp at Reception Today

Columbus, GA – December 7, 2010 — Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle, Attorney General-Elect Sam Olens and Commissioner of Labor-Elect Mark Butler will be special guests for a reception honoring Senator Seth Harp, Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at 5:30 to 7:30 pm at the Doubletree Hotel, 5351 Sidney Simons Boulevard, Columbus, GA.  The event is hosted by Tracy Sayers.

In his ten years serving our community in the Senate, Seth has worked tirelessly for his district and for all of Georgia.  His influence and effective leadership have been an essential resource for Columbus and the region.

  • Seth served as Co-Chair of the National Governors Association committee on Base Realignment and Closing (BRAC).  Through this he was able to ensure that the education and transportation expansion in the Fort Benning area received generous federal and state funding.
  • Seth has been an outspoken advocate leading the effort to clean up the Chattahoochee River and improve management of the resources of the Chattahoochee Basin.
  • As Chairman of the Senate Higher Education committee, Seth tirelessly fought to protect the university system by maximizing the funds allocated during a time of budget constraints.  His efforts will facilitate the continued growth of Columbus State University and area technical colleges as leading educational institutions.

Please help us thank Seth for his dedicated service to our community as he ends his tenure in the Senate.

    • Ok, thanks. I wonder if hosting such a reception counts as a “gift” to Mr. Harp that he will be required to disclose in his final financial statements to the Ethics Commission.
