Mitch Seabaugh only SD28 resident who doesn’t want to be Senator

First, a haiku:

Mitch Seabaugh resigned,
ten candidates are running?
Clown car election.

Apparently every other qualified voters is running – a total of ten candidates- in the November 8th, 2011 special election to succeed Seabaugh.

The final list of candidate and their affiliations:

Cynthia C. Bennett, Newnan, Non-partisan
Duke Blackburn, Newnan, Republican
Matt Brass, Newnan, Republican
Mike Crane, Newnan, Republican
Kyle Frank, Senoia, Republican
Dale Pepper, Newnan, Republican
M. Seabolt, Roopville, Democratic
Edward Stone, Senoia, Republican
Mark Washington, Newnan, Republican
Jammie Williams, Sharpsburg, Democratic

I’m going to go out on a limb here and make three predictions: first, there will be a runoff election on December 6th; second, that someone or someones from Coweta County will be in that runoff; and third, that a Republican will be in the mix and likely the eventual winner.

The Newnan Times-Herald is continuing with its series of in-depth profiles of the candidates, which now should be running through the runoff. Today, they’ve profiled Kyle Frank, one of the Republicans.

I just posted this in the other District 28 thread.

“I first met Ed Stone over 3 years ago. He has always been fast to respond to any question or suggestion I had, no matter how trivial. I have appreciated his calm leadership and straightforward approach. The folks of District 28 would be well served by Mr. Stone.”

I encourage the voters to contact him.
