Attorney General Chris Carr To Seek Re-election

In the “which Republican will challenge Senator Warnock” sweepstakes, you can cross Chris Carr’s name off the list of potential candidates. Carr, the incumbent Attorney General and Republican, will seek re-election and not toss his hat in the Senate ring as some had speculated.

“I am running for re-election as Georgia’s Attorney General to build on our proven record of protecting Georgians’ lives and livelihoods so that Georgia can continue to be the best state in the nation to live, work and raise a family,” Carr said. “I am proud of our results in going after criminals who prey on our most vulnerable with human trafficking, gang activity, scams, and elder abuse. I took an oath to uphold our laws and that is exactly what I have done.”

Carr will face off against a Democratic candidate as his 2018 opponent Charlie Bailey is running again. If Bailey is to have his rematch, he’ll first have to defeat fellow Democrat, State Senator Jen Jordan, in the Democratic Primary.
