Cook Political Report Shifts Gov. Race to Kemp

One of the leading election watchers, Cook Political Report, has shifted the Georgia gubernatorial race toward Gov. Brian Kemp. The race has been viewed as a toss-up, but recent polls show Kemp leading his Democratic rival, Stacey Abrams, almost consistently outside the margin of error.

Cook Political Report has updated the race to “Lean Republican.” The actual analysis from Cook Political Report is paywalled. Another election watcher, Inside Elections, has the race handicapped as “Tilt Republican.”
