Hanson Running For GOP’s 6th Congressional Nomination
Former State Representative Meagan Hanson announced today she will seek the Republican nomination for the 6th Congressional District. According to the AJC:
“Conservative values aren’t just a talking point for me,” said Hanson, an attorney, in a statement. “They are what I’ve been fighting for my entire life – on the grassroots level, in the legislature, and in the court system.”
She joins an unsettled field aiming to unseat McBath, who won the seat in 2018 and fended off a comeback attempt by Republican Karen Handel last year.
Other announced candidates for this seat include veteran Harold Earls, and longtime GOP activists Suzi Voyles.
Unknown is what the new 6th Congressional district will look like. However, as we all know, one does not have to be a resident of a Congressional district to represent that district.
