It’s Déjà vu all over again.
Did you feel it? Yesterday, at about 3:45 PM EDT we were transported back in time, back to November-December 2020. You remember those days, don’t you? Trump had lost the Presidential election, but insisted there was massive fraud and launched attacks on Republicans all over the country for their supposed “disloyalty.” Nowhere was the “disloyalty” considered more acute than right here in the Peach State.
There’s no need to recount the events that followed since we know them all too well. As a result, Democrats have had a grand ‘ole time getting their candidates elected to the U.S. Senate, deepening their grip on Metro Atlanta, and gaining momentum heading into 2024.
But then the truth was exposed, in Atlanta no less. Voters (especially Democratic voters) had been saying for months that President Biden was too old for the job and shouldn’t run for reelection. Nevertheless, the Democratic Machine plowed ahead until his debate performance exposed what we all knew, and Biden was forced out.
Suddenly, Trump had all the momentum. Post-debate polls showed his lead increasing nationally, and most importantly, growing in all the key swing states. But after a series of blunders and missed opportunities, it’s VP Harris with the Big Mo.
How does Trump respond to finding himself in a dogfight? He resurrects from his 2020-era attacks on Kemp (and the First Lady) and Raffensperger. He talks again about his claims of the stolen election and gets folks all ginned up about upcoming State Board of Elections meetings. Finally, we can overturn Biden’s victory and re-install Trump in the White House! Amirite!
4-D chess for the win!
Meanwhile, recession fears are back, and the world is in chaos. The nation, indeed the world, cries out for competent, sober American leadership. Instead, the two major political parties decided what we really need is a Sophie’s Choice.
Strap in youngins ’cause the next 92 days are going to be a wild ride.
