By all means let’s discuss the mote in Walz’s eye with an exaggeration and 24 years of service vs a presidential candidate with a beam in his. Trump’s daddy bought him a deferment for nonexistent bone spurs and Trump also labeled his adventures with ladies of ill repute as his own Vietnam.
However, that being said, Shapiro would have been a better choice for their ticket. Trump had dozens of better choices.
I’ve got to belabor the point having just read this one:
“Former President Donald J. Trump on Thursday described the Presidential Medal of Freedom, which honors civilians, as being “much better” than the Medal of Honor, because service members who receive the nation’s highest military honor are often severely wounded or dead.
Mr. Trump’s remarks follow a yearslong series of comments in which he has appeared to mock, attack or express disdain for service members who are wounded, captured or killed, even as he portrays himself as the ultimate champion of the armed forces.
At a campaign event at his golf club in Bedminster, N.J., billed as a discussion about fighting antisemitism, Mr. Trump recounted how he awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Miriam Adelson, the Israeli-American widow of the casino magnate Sheldon Adelson. Ms. Adelson, who attended the event, is among his top donors.” –New York Times
I’ve met two recipients of the MOH in my life and comparing their deeds with marriage to a billionaire is beyond the pale. I’m with Jason on this one. In the long run Republicans are better off losing this Presidential race. After it is over purge the cultists at the state level including Shafer II and try to run viable candidates NOT flung at you by the orange con man.
First, thanks for listening.
Second, your comment is related to an opinion expressed by Pye, who insists, regularly, on slamming Trump in relation to everyone on the planet. The fact that he refrained from engaging in whataboutism regarding Trump in this instance should be a warning signal that this is a significant weakness for Walz.
Buzz and I didn’t even want to talk about Walz at all, having skipped him entirely the week before.
