New General Election Polling In Georgia.

Echelon Insights conducted a poll across several states on various economic issues, including a few general election candidate questions for good measure. Here’s what they found in Georgia (407 Georgia respondents):

Governor’s Race:

  • Lance Bottoms v. Jones: 49% – 43%
  • Lance Bottoms v. Jackson: 49% – 43%
  • Lance Bottoms v. Raffensperger: 46% – 44%
  • Lance Bottons v. Carr: NOT POLLED

Senate Race:

  • Ossoff v. Carter: 52% – 43%
  • Ossoff v. Collins: 51% – 44%
  • Ossoff v. Dooley: NOT POLLED

Full poll.

Echelon is a good polling company, holding an A- rating from Nate Silver.

However, this poll seems to be skewed toward Democrats. Question 8 asks,

“If the election for Congress were held today and you had to make a choice, for whom would you vote? And if you had to choose today, would you vote for the Republican candidate or the Democratic candidate?

The results in Georgia are 50% for the Democrats and only 44% for the Republicans. That seems off to me. I also wish Carr and Dooley had been included in the poll. Still, Republicans shouldn’t dismiss what this poll says; who they nominate for these two posts is very important.
