Breaking: Willis’s RICO Case Against Trump Et Al Is Finally Over.
In an ending reminiscent of a Tom Wolfe novel, the years-long sprawling RICO case against President Trump and his cast of thousands is over.
Georgia GOP Chairman Josh McKoon is understandably in a celebratory mood on this Thanksgiving Eve:
The ending of this case wraps up quite a year for Fulton County DA Fani Willis. In June, her other sprawling, RICO case, against Young Thug and his Young Slime Life gang, group, club, whatever, ended with no murder convictions. The YSL case had so many bizarre twists and turns that I’d be shocked if a Netflix limited series isn’t in the works.
As I said repeatedly on Peach Pundit The Podcast, this prosecution was a massive overreach. There were only ever two questions in my mind that needed to be adjudicated: the alleged data breach of voting machine source code in Coffee County, and whether the infamous phone call between President Trump and Secretary Raffensperger crossed the line. But dealing with those limited issues was never on DA Willis’s mind. To be blunt, she wanted fame and glory, and in the end, got nothing.
Happy Thanksgiving, Georgia GOP!
