Catoosa County GOP Convention Doubles Down on More Lawsuits

Sometimes people just won’t learn. Shortly after re-electing the “volunteer grandmothers” who ignored court orders and refused to qualify several Republican candidates for the 2024 GOP primary ballot, the convention double downed by expelling the candidates who dared to exercise their right to run for office.

RHINOS out. This is what just happened at the GOP meeting:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the delegates of the County Convention of the Catoosa
County Republican Party:

  • That LARRY BLACK, VANITA HULLANDER, JEFF LONG, CHUCK HARRIS, STEVEN HENRY are hereby expelled from the Catoosa County Republican Party.
  • That LARRY BLACK, VANITA HULLANDER, JEFF LONG, CHUCK HARRIS, STEVEN HENRY are hereby banned from qualifying as candidates of the Catoosa County Republican Party in any capacity.
  • That any previous nominations or offices held by LARRY BLACK, VANITA HULLANDER, JEFF LONG, CHUCK HARRIS, STEVEN HENRY are hereby expunged.
  • That LARRY BLACK, VANITA HULLANDER, JEFF LONG, CHUCK HARRIS, STEVEN HENRY are hereby demanded to cease and desist from calling themselves “Republicans” or using false claims of being “Republicans” for personal profit.
  • That LARRY BLACK, VANITA HULLANDER, JEFF LONG, CHUCK HARRIS, STEVEN HENRY are hereby banned from all property owned, leased, rented or in the control of the Catoosa County Republican Party and all events held by or under the authority of the Catoosa County Republican Party.

The Court has yet to decide on the attorney fees for the first challenge that the Catoosa County GOP already lost, and it seems that Catoosa, much like Kevin Bacon in the movie Animal House, is telling these Republican elected officials, “thank you sir, may I have another.”

If the resolution looks familiar, it’s because it is almost verbatim the text of the ridiculous resolution passed by the Executive Committee of the Georgia Republican Party expelling Geoff Duncan.

At least with Duncan, the GAGOP articulated reasons for the expulsion. It does not seem that was done by Catoosa, which, like Kevin Bacon in Animal House, seems to be mostly about “butt-hurt”.

Of course, the resolution, like the GAGOP resolution, is void on its face as you cannot discipline a member without due process.

However, what do the rules matter when you are seeking a certain outcome? I mean, don’t the Democrats do that all the time?

Makes me wonder who the real RINOs are here?
