Gaines and Kingston Surge To The Lead In The Money Race.
I was scanning through FEC reports, looking to see which candidates for Congress have filed their latest campaign finance disclosure reports, when I noticed this:

Houston Gaines, running for the open seat in Congressional District 10, and Jim Kingston, running for the open seat in Congressional District 1, rank 126th and 128th, respectively, in money raised for the 2026 cycle. This list includes incumbent members of Congress, many of whom have national fundraising profiles. Impressive work by these two campaigns.
Meanwhile, folks at Jim Kingston’s campaign for Congressional District 1 sent me an early peek at their 4th quarter results:
- $300,000+ raised in the fourth quarter
- Over $1.6 million raised to date
- With $1.4 million cash on hand
- 560+ individual donors here in Georgia
- 85% of donors are from Georgia
- 60+ public endorsements (vs just 1 that we could find for anyone else in the field)
- Support and endorsements span the conservative spectrum, uniting the party: Ted Cruz, Steve Scalise, Jim Jordan, Tom Emmer, 10 of 12 GA-01 GOP sheriffs, Debbie Dooley, Saxby Chambliss, the Savannah Area FOP (by unanimous vote), and every state senator whose district touches GA-01
- Organized in all 15 GA-01 counties
Obviously, there is a long way to go in these two races, but Gaines and Kingston are the clear frontrunners.
