Lt. Governor Burt Jones Joins The Fray

The big news in Georgia politics this morning is that Lt. Governor Burt Jones has jumped into the race for Governor. Jones released a statement and video, as shown in this tweet.

Jones joins Attorney General Chris Carr as the other statewide elected official in the race for the Republican nomination for Governor. There are three other Republicans who have filed paperwork to seek the nomination. They are listed in the 2026 Election Rumor Tracker.

Notable names who remain rumored candidates are former Congressman Drew Ferguson and current Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene.
