Belle Isle To Make “Special Announcement.” Hice SOS Run Imminent?

Rumors have reached Peach Pundit Worldwide Headquarters of an imminent announcement by 10th district Congressman Jody Hice that he will challenge incumbent Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. Needless to say this will set off a chain reaction in the 10th district as folks seek to replace Hice. Rumors Hice would seek the SOS post surfaced earlier this week.

Hice and four other members of the Georgia Congressional delegation sought to object to Georgia’s elections results during Congress’ counting of the Electoral College votes in January. The challenge did not move forward as no Georgia Senator agreed to match the objection. Hice was a frequent post-election critic of Georgia’s results as reported in the Walton Tribune:

Hice has tweeted prolifically since the Nov. 3 election, a vote in which he was reelected to Congress in a landslide from Georgia’s 10th District, including Walton County. He’s claimed “deep concerns” about management of elections in the state, including a signature matching process he called “a joke.”

Meanwhile, former Alpharetta Mayor David Belle Isle emailed that he will be making a “special announcement” on Monday at 5:30 PM at the Alpharetta City Hall Park. It is widely anticipated that Belle Isle will also challenge Raffensperger in 2022. As you will remember, he lost the GOP nomination to Raffensperger in a runoff in 2018.

The 2022 elections have begun for real folks.
