Another Republican Launches Campaign for U.S. Senate
On the heels of Kelvin King’s announcement for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate comes another. Latham Saddler, UGA graduate and former Trump White House staffer, announced his campaign on Thursday.
Playing off his military service as a Navy SEAL who served in Afghanistan and Iraq, Saddler said in his announcement, “As your United States Senator, I will be guided by my faith, by my conservative, Georgia values and by my deep love of country. I will put Georgia first and keep America first. I will not back down in the face of our enemies who seek to destroy us, or from those among us who seek to divide us. I’ll fight for you with honor, hard work, respect and resilience. Because that’s the American Way.”
Saddler also mentions his service at the White House, both his work on the National Security Council and on criminal justice reform (I do vaguely remember meeting him during one of the several meetings at the White House that I attended on the First Step Act), and references the threat of China in his announcement. Saddler also released a video for his campaign. (Someone needs to buy Latham a razor.)
