State House to Release maps at 4PM
Remy has let us know that the Majority Caucus of the State House had a meeting today where the rank and file members were required to hand over their cell phones prior to going in the room. The topic of the meeting was to discuss which of them had the odds in their favor, and which of them did not ahead of tomorrow’s special called session to redraw the legislative maps.
And it looks like some definitely did not have the odds in their favor.
Matt Dollar, who has served in the House for 18 of his 43 years, was drawn into a district with the original Tea Partier Sharon Cooper. In South Georgia, James Burchett was drawn into a district that heavily favors him against Dominic Lariccia, a former floor leader for Governor Kemp. And in middle Georgia, Danny Mathis was drawn into a district with freshman legislator, Robert Pruitt.
We do not have any word on which Democrats were drawn together yet, but we will be clicking refresh on the State House website come 4PM to let you know what we see.
