With No Ad Inventory Left to Purchase, Rick Jackson Buys the Blog
In a move that many observers will say was probably inevitable, I am proud to announce that, after months of confidential negotiations, several late-night phone calls, and one very intense discussion over what exactly constitutes “editorial independence,” Peach Pundit has officially been acquired by Rick Jackson, marking the latest step in what can only be described as his ongoing effort to appear on every screen, in every feed, and during every commercial break in the state of Georgia.
Henceforth, we will now be known as RickPundit™.
Under the terms of the deal, which were finalized sometime between “you’ve got to be kidding me” and “sure, why not,” Rick Jackson now serves as Owner, Publisher, Chairman, Senior Visiting Fellow, Interim Ombudsman, and, in a newly created role, Executive Vice President of Just Asking Questions.
Readers should not expect any sudden dramatic changes to the site. In fact, the transition should feel very natural, especially to those who have already grown accustomed to seeing Rick Jackson everywhere they turn. For many Georgians, this announcement may not even register as news so much as a simple acknowledgment of current reality.
Under the new arrangement, RickPundit™ will remain committed to covering Georgia politics, public policy, campaigns, and the increasingly theoretical question of whether there is any remaining advertising inventory in the state that has not already been secured by Rick Jackson.
The site’s new ownership will also allow for exciting growth opportunities. Future readers can expect expanded coverage, enhanced visibility, and a user experience in which every article carries the faint but unmistakable sensation that it, too, may somehow be sponsored by Rick Jackson.
For example, we are thrilled to announce the launch of a new premium subscription tier, Rick+, which offers members exclusive content, early access to columns, and the ability to receive push alerts any time Rick Jackson is mischaracterized.
Also, the editorial calendar will be updated to reflect the new owner’s priorities. Readers can look forward to recurring features such as:
- Rick Was Right
- A Modest Proposal from Rick Jackson
- What the Media Won’t Ask Rick Jackson
- Counterpoint: Rick Jackson Again
- Fact Check: Still Rick Jackson
We want to assure longtime readers that RickPundit™’s editorial mission remains intact. The site will continue to provide sharp commentary, independent analysis, and timely news, although now with the added realism that comes from existing in a state where political ad saturation has apparently achieved physical form.
On a personal note, I want to thank our readers for their loyalty and support over the years. Peach Pundit has always tried to reflect Georgia politics as it really is, and in that spirit, it felt irresponsible not to acknowledge that Rick Jackson has now occupied so much of the political atmosphere that full platform acquisition was really the only honest next step.
We are excited about this new chapter and look forward to continuing to serve our audience under the proud new reality that, for at least one day, everything in Georgia politics belongs to Rick Jackson.
