Crowded Field In House District 100, Already.
As you are aware, Rep. David Clark is running for Lt. Governor. This, of course, creates an opportunity for those living within the boundaries of House District 100 to give public service a go.
Clark announced his run on August 12th, and today, we have three folks who have already announced their desire to take his place at the Capitol in January of 2027.
First up is a familiar name: former Representative Josh Clark, who happens to be David Clark’s brother. From his press release:
BUFORD, GA — Former State Representative Josh Clark today announced his candidacy for Georgia State House District 100, seeking a return to the Georgia General Assembly. The district includes much of his former district in North Gwinnett, along with parts of South Hall and East Forsyth counties. In addition to his prior legislative service, Clark is a local business owner and former corporate executive with a proven track record of standing up for conservative principles and boldly advocating for faith, family, and freedom.
“I am excited to announce my run for State House,” Josh Clark said. “With so much at stake for our state and feeling a call to return to public service, my wife, Chelsey, and I have been praying about where I should engage in the fight to preserve our freedom and liberty. With this House seat opening up it provides a unique opportunity for me to step back up and serve our community.”
Another candidate for HD 100 is Edwin Duncan. According to his website, Duncan…
…was raised in Alabama in a proud middle-class military family and carried those values into his own service in the U.S. Navy.
Following his service, Edwin decided to build his life in Georgia where he started businesses and served his community. He and his wife April have watched their children, and now grandchildren, grow up on Lake Lanier.
In business, Edwin started from the ground up. He walked away from a comfortable corporate track to launch his first roofing company, expanding it to 5 offices across 4 states before selling and later building another company. Today, he leads successful companies in commercial/residential roofing and home restoration, solar tech, and HVAC supply — creating jobs, solving problems, and helping Georgia families.
Beyond business, Edwin has poured over a decade into coaching girls’ volleyball. He has coached at the club, high school, junior Olympic, and collegiate levels. Coaching teams on championship runs, and experiencing firsthand why the importance of fairness in girls’ sports matters.
A third candidate has joined the race. Denise Rumbaugh’s website says:
I’m honored to be running for Georgia State House District 100. As a wife, mother of three amazing sons, and proud grandmother, my heart for service is rooted in family and community. For years, I’ve worked along side many to make Gwinnett County a thriving place to call home.
I currently serve as the Chairwoman of the Gwinnett County Zoning Board of Appeals, my second term on the Gwinnett County Citizens Budget Review Team, and the GCPS Policy Committee, focusing on fair practices, fiscal transparency, and policies that support our students and families. My experience as Co-Chair of TP Gwinnett Moms, former Second Vice Chairwoman of the Gwinnett GOP, and former Director of Gwinnett for Truth in Education has allowed me to serve our neighbors through community programs, family support, and education advocacy.
