Greg Dolezal in for LG – But What’s With the Bunny Ears

So… where to start? How about with buckling your seat belt because this is fixing to get bumpy.

The Daily Caller is reporting that Burt Jones ally, Senator Greg Dolezal, is in for the race to earn the Republican nomination for Lieutenant Governor. For those counting at home that makes four members of the Senate Majority Caucus running against each other for the same job, with another two running against each other for Attorney General.

In a group discussion with some folks from DC last week, I struggled to convey just how tangled the politics of the Senate will be during the 2026 legislative session. As it stands, with none of the GOP candidates showing any signs of resigning early to focus on their campaigns, it is going to be like showing up in Hampton saying you are there to watch a race but secretly you just want to watch the wrecks.

Several of these candidates are friends of mine, including Greg Dolezal. Each of them deserve a post about their own candidacy and what they each would bring to the table. And maybe we at Peach Pundit will be able to do that as the race progresses, however a bunch of stuff happened today that is so inside baseball that we have divert our attention there first because it is the kind of stuff the main stream media may have a hard time printing.

So let’s start about 10:00 AM today as the Gold Dome crowd, i.e. lobbyists, staff, elected officials, received a text message that was among the most bizarre I have seen in my time in politics.

The video included features a backlit man in a trashed apartment, inexplicably wearing bunny ears saying that he knows Greg, “really, really well,” and that the “truth is going to come out.” That’s it. That’s the whole video. The site features the words, “Dearest Greg Dolezal: The truth shall set you free! MORE TO COME…”

But what does it mean? Hell if I know.

What I do know is that by dinner time someone had published the site, https://www.shannonmeetschristina.com/ and for those who do not know, Shannon is the better half of GOP LG Candidate, Steve Gooch.

When that site first appeared there was a video that appears to have been removed as I type this post. However, thanks to our podcast tools, I was able to capture it so each of you can see it for yourself.

In what l believe is a quickly generated AI video, a similarly backlit man says, “Joel loves the furries, so I get the bunny ears. But does Shannon know about Christina or the St. Regis?”

But what does it mean? Hell if I know.

So now we speculate.

A Peach Pundit reliable anonymous source told us there was some finger pointing going on that the bunny ears site was connected to the Gooch Campaign. A claim was made that the sites were hosted on the same server.

Your intrepid blogger’s first career was at Hewlett Packard and trying to confirm this would be a very easy task to verify. If you want to nerd out PM me and I will walk you through all the steps I followed to debunk the suspicion. Please do not read this as an exoneration and let me be crystal clear; it is not obvious which campaign is responsible for the bunny ears site.

But here’s what the tech breadcrumbs say. gregsbunnyears.com is built on Wix. You can see the “Powered and secured by Wix” footer, and the domain points to a Wix edge IP at 185.230.63.107. goochforgeorgia.com is on a different platform altogether. Its A records are 35.172.94.1 and 100.24.208.97, which are the standard pair used by Duda. The Gooch site also loads images from lirp.cdn-website.com, a Duda CDN domain. Different platforms, different IPs.

Both domains use GoDaddy’s nameservers (NS57 and NS58.DOMAINCONTROL.COM), but that’s not proof of a shared operation. Lots of unrelated campaigns park their DNS at GoDaddy. What matters is where the web traffic actually goes, and in this case one site resolves to Wix while the other resolves to Duda.

Bottom line for readers: shared registrar settings are common and easy to misread. The hosting and asset trails tell the real story, and those point to two separate website stacks. It does not mean the Gooch campaign is completely exonerated, but it is not obvious the sites are related just by comparing the two. At this point the bunny ears could have come from any campaign, or just someone with a bone to pick with Senator Dolezal.

For what it is worth, my source at the Gooch Campaign denies the bunny ears came from that campaign.

As for the meaning of the content of each video, I am completely stumped by the bunny ears. I mean, tell me your best theory in the comments. The Shannon meets Christina and the St. Regis is easier to discern; an accusation of infidelity.

oh boy.

Remember how I told you to start by buckling up? Excuse me while I head to Hampton, I want to go see a “race.”
