Jim Kingston Pulls Huge $500K Opening Haul

I know, I know, I have been slack on updating the Rumor Tracker and there are people who are running for the 1st Congressional District who I haven’t added to the list yet. With all due respect to those folks, but I am starting to wonder if I really need to update that race beyond just one name: Jim Kingston.

If you are contemplating leaving an office you already hold and abandoning your bird in hand to take your shot at going to Washington, the Kingston Campaign has offered an additional variable to your calculus.

We received word overnight that in a single week of dialing for dollars Jim Kingston has over $500k cash on hand. Not dubious commitments or vague pledges or “my first-grade teacher said she’d write a check someday” promises. We’re talking actual, real money in the bank..

I am going to share the press release here with the caveat that we are under no obligation to post campaign pressers. But since this race is still early and because this is a pretty darned impressive haul, I am choosing to publish this one. Also, in full disclosure, I endorsed Jim’s father, Jack, what feels like a lifetime ago. Jack also once gave me a shot to the ribs for making a “that’s what she said” joke.

SAVANNAH – Insurance executive and conservative Republican Jim Kingston announced that in just one week, he raised over $500,000 for a campaign to represent Georgia’s 1st Congressional District. Kingston plans to launch his campaign for the seat being vacated by Congressman Buddy Carter with a formal campaign announcement coming soon.

“The good fight is not over. It’s just begun. Our broken federal government has wasted trillions in tax dollars, turned a blind eye while illegal aliens take advantage of our generosity, and stuck us with the tab. I’m running for Congress to help President Trump restore American dominance and return some South Georgia common sense back to Washington,” said Kingston.

“The response has been overwhelming. We have a long way to go, but I’m humbled to report that we’ve raised $508,734 in our first week with the vast majority of those donations coming from hard working families right here in our state,” Kingston added.

Jim is the son of former Trump surrogate and Congressman Jack Kingston, who previously served Georgia’s 1st Congressional District. Born and raised in Savannah, Jim attended St. Andrews School and the University of Georgia, then built a successful career in the commercial insurance industry. It was during his time working in the private sector that he saw firsthand the damaging effects of big government and liberal policies. With our country’s future at stake, he doesn’t want to stay on the sidelines.

“Public service is in my DNA. Riding back-seat in an old station wagon with my dad as we crisscrossed the district, I was raised on faith, the power of a handshake, and to follow through on your word,” said Kingston. “I know that President Trump’s bold agenda won’t succeed with feeble politicians who put their finger in the air to figure out their values. I know who I am. I know South Georgia, and I know a good fight when I see one. I’m ready to go to work for you in Washington and fight alongside President
Trump.”

  1. If I lived in the district, I’d be voting for Jim Kingston.

All people of good will must rally to end the threat of Kandiss Taylor.
