The Big And The Beautiful

By the slimmest of margins, the One Big Beautiful Bill received final passage in the House today and now sits on President Trump’s desk. Once again, the President has defied the odds and delivered a massive win for hardworking families. He is poised to sign his landmark legislation tomorrow, on Independence Day.

The Senate passed the measure with Vice President Vance breaking a 50-50 tie, and the House passed the OBBB 218-214. Here in Georgia, all Congressional Republicans voted in favor including Reps. Rick Allen, Buddy Carter, Andrew Clyde, Mike Collins, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Brian Jack, Barry Loudermilk, Rich McCormick, and Austin Scott.

Predictably, our Democratic Members of Congress were opposed including Senators Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock. For Senator Ossoff, voting against robust border security and the largest tax cuts in American history is certainly an interesting approach heading into to an election year. When coupled with his ambivalence towards Israel, Sen. Ossoff is clearly out of step with Georgia voters.

The Faith & Freedom Coalition was honored to work with Congress and the Trump Administration to deliver some of the most pro-family measures in history. These victories include increasing the child tax credit, providing critical funds to secure the border, and promoting a culture of life. By nearly every measure, this bill advances family values and rewards hardworking Americans.

This legislation addresses many of the legislative priorities that President Trump promised to Americans during his campaign for President. Although the bill is not perfect, as none are, nor does it include several provisions of the original House version, I voted in favor of the largest tax cut in history, ending the Biden-era invasion of our southern border, and reducing wasteful and abusive spending of taxpayer dollars.
