Redistricting: GA stays at 14

Good news is in for Twitter parody account @RepStevenSmith (who appears to have run afoul of the twitter gods) and the rest of #gapol. The census released some of their data which included which states gained and lost seats. Unfortunately for Georgia’s influence at the federal level, we will remain at 14 congressional districts. Good news is we don’t have to figure out what to do about a rogue Twitter parody account claiming representation of a 15th district.

Republicans will cheer that both New York and California have lost a seat and Texas has gained two. In other news, Montana finally has as many representatives as it does Senators. Wyoming still sits lonely with a single at large district.

H/T to Nathan Yau over at Flowing Data for catching the Census Bureau’s Live feed (recording here).
