Labor Commissioner Bruce Thompson announces he is battling pancreatic cancer

Yesterday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution broke the news that Georgia Labor Commissioner Bruce Thompson is battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

Thompson released the following statement on social media this morning vowing to stay in office as long as he can and aggressively fight the disease.

Thompson, who is originally from Montana, moved to Georgia after serving in the United States Army, served for a decade in the State Senate before being elected Labor Commissioner in 2022.

Thompson lives in Cartersville with his wife and two children.
