Loudermilk Retires. Who Will Replace Him?
By now, you’ve likely heard that 11th District Congressman Barry Loudermilk will not run again.
Of course, this has sparked discussion across the 11th district and beyond. Here’s what we know:
- Dr. John Cowan is running. He lost to MTG back in the day.
- Christopher Mora was primaring Loudermilk and will stay in the race.
- Senator Ed Setlzer will not run (per the AJC).
- Former Rep. and current Mayor of Woodstock, Michael Caldwell, is thinking about it.
- Andrew Johnson, who works for the Trump Admin and is the son of longtime GOP activist Scott Johnson, is considering a run.
- Former Senator and now US Treasurer Brandon Beach is thinking about it.
Given that 22 folks tossed their hats into the ring in the 14th Congressional special election, expect a large number of folks to also run in the 11th.
