Middle Georgia Set to Decide Senate District 18

Early voting for the Georgia Senate District 18 Special Election Runoff will be held Saturday, February 7 through Friday, February 13. Election Day is Tuesday, February 17. Senate District 18 includes Crawford, Monroe, Peach, Upson, and portions of Bibb and Houston Counties. Early voting locations and Election Day polling places can be found here.

This Special Election Runoff between LeMario Brown (D) and Steven McNeel (R) has garnered national attention and spending. In the General Election, LeMario Brown came in first with just under 37% with 5 Republican Candidates splitting the remaining 63%. Steven McNeel came in first among the Republicans with 21.3%, putting him in the runoff with LeMario Brown. This seat was formerly held by State Senator John F. Kennedy (R) who stepped down to focus on his campaign for Lt. Governor.
