The Peace Of Jerusalem

The only path to true peace in Jerusalem is a strong and secure State of Israel, free of the numerous threats from Iran. Our prayers are with our U.S. military personnel in the region and the people of Israel.

Iran has been behind nearly every attack and threat against Israel in recent memory, including the October 7, 2023 atrocities: 1200 innocent Israelis murdered, thousands more injured, and more than 250 taken hostage. Iran’s terrorist proxies, Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis are wreaking havoc in the region. A nuclear Iran is an existential threat to the survival of Israel, and Israel made clear that she would never allow a nuclear Iran. Israel is on the frontlines of this fight, but we are a target as well. In same breath that the Iranian regime chants ‘Death to Israel,’ it is always followed by ‘Death to America.’ Israel would not take this step if her and our security were not in question.

I was in Israel less than a month ago, and I met with our Ambassador, Mike Huckabee. I thanked him for his and President Trump’s steadfast support for Israel. Ambassador Huckabee reaffirmed their commitment to standing with Israel. The Administration has given every opportunity for a diplomatic solution. President Trump’s visionary leadership has brought previously unimaginable possibilities for peace and cooperation, and Iran should heed the President’s warnings and abandon their nuclear ambitions.

The threats from Iran reenforce the need for military superiority for the U.S. and our allies. Modeled after Israel’s Iron Dome, President Trump’s call for a ‘Golden Dome’ for missile defense for America is a bold and necessary response to the threats we face. Israel’s experience in combat, technology, intelligence, and innovation are invaluable to the United States for our defense.

Here in Georgia, the majority of our Congressional Delegation have been rock solid supporters of Israel including Reps. Rick Allen, Buddy Carter, Mike Collins, Brian Jack, Rich McCormick, Barry Loudermilk, David Scott, and Austin Scott. Governor Brian Kemp and our Georgia General Assembly have taken action in support of Israel and the Jewish people including increasing investment in Israel Bonds and passing legislation defining antisemitism and resolutions of support.

Unfortunately, Senators Jon Ossoff and Rafael Warnock have been gravely disappointing in relation to Israel. They went so far as to side with Bernie Sanders in his radical opposition to Israel. They voted to limit Israel’s ability to defend herself and have hidden behind equivocation rather than showing support for our ally Israel’s right to defend herself.

Lasting peace and prosperity for Israel and the region is on the horizon, but Iran has long stood as the barrier to that reality. Removing Iran’s nuclear capabilities are key to ending Iran’s reign as the chief state sponsor of terror. Please join us in prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you be secure. May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels.”
Psalm 122:6-7
