Trafalgar’s Latest Poll: Marjorie’s World, We’re Just Living in It

The Trafalgar Group just dropped a new poll for Georgia’s 2026 U.S. Senate race, and if you’re Marjorie Taylor Greene, it’s time to pop the champagne – at least for now.

In a hypothetical Republican primary that does not include Brian Kemp, Greene is pulling 43% of the vote, leaving everyone else scrambling for second place. Brad Raffensperger clocks in at 22%, Mike Collins at 15%, Buddy Carter at 13%, Rich McCormick at 5%, and John King rounding things out at 2%.

On paper, that’s a commanding lead. But when you dig into the general election numbers, the party might want to hold off on ordering the custom MTG yard signs.

When matched up against Democratic incumbent Jon Ossoff, Greene gets absolutely thumped -trailing by 11 points (48%-37%). Meanwhile, Ossoff leads Mike Collins by just 5 points and Raffensperger by 8. In other words: nominate someone other than Greene, and the race is competitive. Nominate Greene, and Ossoff might as well start measuring the drapes for another term.

The bigger takeaway? Republican voters seem ready to hand the baton to the loudest person in the room, without pausing to ask whether she can actually win statewide. It’s a classic case of confusing Twitter engagement with electability – and if Georgia Republicans fall for it, they’ll be handing Chuck Schumer one less headache to worry about.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the governor’s mansion, Brian Kemp is quietly sipping his coffee, watching all this unfold, and thinking, “Maybe I’ll just sit this one out after all.”

Stay tuned. The clown car isn’t even full yet.

  1. It’s time to impose an intelligence test at the polls with questions like:
“If you have one bucket that contains 2 gallons and another bucket that contains 7 gallons, how many buckets do you have?”

Meanwhile I’m about to sell me some mega Georgia film tax credits for a production of a movie with the working title “Ass”.
