Huge Georgia political news. Governor Brian Kemp says he will not challenge incumbent Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff in 2026.

Open the floodgates to the cast of thousands who will likely jump into this race.

The 2026 Election Rumor Tracker lists these folks as potential candidates (in alphabetical order), now that Governor Kemp is out.

  • Congressman Buddy Carter
  • Congressman Mike Collins
  • Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene
  • Agriculture Commissioner Tyler Harper
  • Insurance Commissioner John King
  • Congressman Rick McCormick
  • Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger

Peach Pundit has posted recent polls showing that Congresswoman Greene has an early lead on the GOP side and that incumbent Ossoff has the upper hand.

Of course, if any or several of these Statewide Officials and members of Congress run, folks will scramble to fill those open positions. Strap in young’uns. It’s about to get crazy.
